How Can I File a Claim?
-
Go online and create an account in NEworks.nebraska.gov. All federal employees may file an unemployment claim during the shutdown. If you need help filing online, you may go to your nearest Department of Labor job center. Click here to see locations.

-
If I am paid after the shutdown ends, will I have to pay back my benefits?

If you receive unemployment benefits now and are later paid by your federal agency for this same time period, you will be required to repay those unemployment benefits.

Do I have to specify which federal agency I work for?

When filing your claim, please ensure that you select the correct federal agency from the dropdown list. Choosing the wrong one can delay the processing of your claim.
