The Nebraska Department of Labor is committed to providing meaningful reemployment services specific to the justice-involved population to empower them to improve their skills and help them achieve self-sufficient employment. 
 
Justice-involved individuals are eligible for the full range of public employment and training services, including but not limited to: 
 
  • - Specialized career assessments and in-depth interviewing
  • - Career exploration and guidance on background-friendly occupations and industries
  • - Assistance with skills-based résumé and turnaround cover letter
  • - Guidance on creating the 30-second elevator speech  
  • - Interview preparation and tips on addressing a criminal record
  • - Support service referrals to providers
  • - Information on employer hiring incentives and tax credits such as fidelity bonds and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program (WOTC)
  • - Connections to second-chance employers  
  • - Employment retention services
  • - Information on careers, training, education, and financial aid
  • - Labor market information
  • - Financial and digital literacy resources
  • - Application process assistance
