Workforce Development Grant Program

Overview

In 2025, the Workforce Development Program Cash Fund was established to promote workforce development efforts in Nebraska. This fund will award grants for projects that support these initiatives. The Nebraska Workforce Development Board (NWDB) will accept proposals and forward their selections for the Commissioner of Labor's consideration.

How to Apply

To apply for a workforce development grant for calendar year 2026, submit a grant application via the link below by February 1, 2026. 

 

Applicants will need to provide the following:

  • Description of your project
  • Estimated cost and what will be funded
  • Project goals, metrics and success measures
  • Project sustainability
  • Contact information
  • Description of your organization

Review and Selection

At its annual meeting in March, the NWDB will review and select up to 18 grant proposals for submission to the Commissioner of Labor. The Commissioner of Labor may approve, reject, or modify any grant proposal submitted by the NWDB, and may select up to three grant recipients in addition to the board’s recommended recipients.
