Unemployment Insurance Taxes Due February 28
LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Labor announced today that Unemployment Insurance tax quarterly reports and payments will be considered on time if submitted by February 28, 2022. According to state law, payments and reports are due January 31 each year, but the Commissioner has the authority to allow payments past that date.
On December 6, 2021, NDOL launched a new modernized unemployment tax system. Nebraska employers can now file their quarterly tax and wage reports at NEworks.nebraska.gov.
“Employers and third-party administrators are successfully using the NEworks system for unemployment insurance tax functions,” said Commissioner of Labor John H. Albin. “The filing deadline is being extended in order to ease the transition process for businesses not familiar with the new system.”
Instructions for making payments and filing reports are available at dol.nebraska.gov/UITax. Assistance is available by contacting ndol.uiccontact@nebraska.gov or 402-471-9898.
