Nebraska’s Amusement Ride Law, Sections §48-1801 through §48-1820, covers all the requirements for operating amusement rides in Nebraska.
Except for purposes of testing and inspection, amusement rides are not to be operated without valid permits issued by the Commissioner to the owners of the rides. Every amusement ride must be inspected before it is originally put into operation for public use and at least once every year prior to public use.
Inspectors determine if the rides are properly maintained, correctly set up, properly grounded, and operated in a manner consistent with safety standards outlined by the manufacturer’s handbook. The Commissioner may inspect any amusement ride without notice at any time while such amusement ride is operating in this state.
Individuals under 16 years of age are prohibited from operating amusement rides. An operator must be in attendance at all times that an amusement ride is in operation.
